Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost for the non-profits?

Nothing! All work completed during the event is provided at no charge.

Do developers have to support the project after the event?

There are no strings attached. What happens at GiveCamp stays at GiveCamp. The code stays with the charity - and developers are not allowed to charge charities for work completed.

What happens if we don't finish?

It is the goal of each event to properly scope the projects for completion. If the team is unable to complete the project it is possible that a few individuals may volunteer to wrap up the work at no charge, but this is not guaranteed.

Should I bring my own computer?

Yep!

Will meals be provided?

Yes. Continental Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

I am vegetarian/ vegan/ gluten free/ have a food allergy, etc. What should I do?

Please let us know if you have dietary restrictions. We can't promise that we will be able to accommodate you, but we will keep you in mind and will let you know closer to the event if we can accommodate your restrictions. We will have a fridge and microwave oven that you can use if the provided food will not work for you. Shoot us and email and let us know if you have any restrictions.

I’ve heard that at other GiveCamp events everyone sleeps over at the venue…hence the “camp” part of GiveCamp. Should we plan on camping as part of the Austin GiveCamp event?

Nope. Although camping is fun, camping in an office not really as much fun. Let’s all head home each night and sleep in our beds.
